Soldering - New Railway Modellers Forums
...Special low-melt solders (not from Halfords) are also available for white metal kits etc.. Would also recommend the use of a carbon-fibre pen for cleaning the metal in advance....

Anybody use a Halfords All Season Car Cover? - ZRoadster.org
...The Halfords one ticks a lot of boxes but especially the fleecy inner. Hopefully with the XS size it will limit lot sof movement in the wind which -with dust and grit, can marr the paintwork. I miss my garage! Good stuff and entirely agree, cheap and useful for emergencies, but take it off afterwards. Car port for the win! This is the one I built....

Paint advice please - New Railway Modellers Forums
...I usually use a spray can of Halfords car primer for this. The colour of primer I choose depends on the final colour of what I am painting but for scenic work plain white usually works best. The Tamiya and Citadel (available through Games Workshop) range of acrylics are excellent and I can highly recommend them, particularly for scenic work....

BR Class 31 Grey Colour Livery - New Railway Modellers Forums
...I am currently restoring an old class 31 loco and would like to finish it in the BR grey livery as seen on Railfreight R2754: Can anyone tell me ballpark colour matches for the roof grey and the main body grey? I use mainly Revell Aqua, Tamiya, Vallejo, Humbrol and Humbrol Rail Colour acrylics but given other manufactures codes I could find a match (names or BS numbers are also useful). I ......

Points problem after ballasting - New Railway Modellers Forums
...Problem solved!! Apart from one small section of one set of points, your solution worked well. Thank you to both. glad to have helped BTW I bought the 1200 grit paper from Toolstation. It's much cheaper than Halfords (£2.60 for 10 sheet vs £2.99 for 4 sheets). I use Toolstation for most of my DIY-type purchases due to the very good prices. Don't have a Toolstation so postage, Halfords next ......

Dean Sidings "Killin Pug" conversion set. - New Railway Modellers
...Took the Caledonian 123 tender to Halfords and spent some time going through their paints. Well, at the time to my eye Ford Balliol Blue seemed the nearest. Someone mentioned earlier that they thought the dark blue was Oxford Blue, and as Balliol Colledge is part of Oxford University I suppose this is Fords answer to Oxford Blue ?...

Severn Wheels (Upton-Upon-Severn) - New Railway Modellers Forums
...Just a heads up for you all I've spent the last few years doing a lot of purchasing through my local model shop in Upton-Upon-Severn en thought it would be wise to give you all a heads up on it. It's not the biggest of shops but if you are after a good price and a VERY friendly service he is the chap to see! He does do other things in the shop (very similar to Halfords) I've bagged many a ......

Varnish: Hornby National Express 91111 - New Railway Modellers Forums
...Get guys, I'm almost at the stage with my model now that I need to varnish it. Can anybody recommend a varnish suitable for spraying onto an ex Hornby class 91? It has been sprayed with Halfords car paint and will have home made (laser printed) transfers on it. Cheers (I'll get a picture of it's current state up later)...
