VTSAX - Why don't just put all $$ in this Index fund?
...VTSAX - Why don't just put all $$ in this Index fund? This is a viable option. Some smart people do exactly this. However, you won't get bond or foreign exposure like this (well, some foreign indirectly...). Most of us want to diversify into bonds and foreign markets. At ten years out from draw down, you might not want any bonds, though. Do some research on setting your investment policy and ......

FZROX vs. VTSAX (New Fidelity 100% Free Fund) - Mr. Money Mustache
...FZROX vs. VTSAX (New Fidelity 100% Free Fund) I own both. Its really marginal at this insanely low level of fees The best equivalent to VTSAX at Fidelity is FSKAX. On $10,000 invested over ten years, the funds have a $160 difference in performance. FZROX is still new with a lower asset base, so I don't think they have fully built out their stock holdings and some people are commenting they don ......

Talk me into VTIAX - Mr. Money Mustache
...VTSAX has me nicely diversified in the U.S. market, and I sort of thought that since so many companies are basically multinational, that had me covered globally. But the more I read, the more VTIAX seems important too. I've already moved about 10% of my investments to VTIAX, but I keep reading about people having and recommending 25-50%....

VTI, VTSMX, VTSAX - Mr. Money Mustache
...VTI, VTSMX, VTSAX Regarding #3. Vanguard might not charge if you sell VTI and buy VTSMX, but the gains will still be taxed. Besides that, this advice is spot on. Buy VTI, and keep buying until you have $3k, then either convert (paying taxes on the gains), or stick with VTI for the long haul. Personally, I'd convert, since mutual funds are much less hassle....

VIIIX vs VIGIX - How do I better understand this?
...VIIIX vs VIGIX - How do I better understand this? The 5 year returns include 3 year returns, which include 1 year returns. Most websites show annualized returns, but I see "cumulative" performance is available on Vanguard's website. The S&P 7 ("magnificent seven") have dramatically outperformed, and all of those are growth companies. The growth index (VIGIX) has a much larger allocation to ......
