...Ars is only OP in the sense that it packs a lot of utility into one item, your spellbook. Instead of carrying around two picks, a melee weapon, a ranged weapon, shears, an enderchest, crafting table, and torches I can carry around a spellbook that can do all of that....

...Ars Nouveau, while easier can't combine spells quite like that, though can make multi-shape spells instead, albeit you're still limited by the overall glyph limit. Outside of spells, I'm not sure, really. M&A's constructs are really well-done and can do a lot of things, whereas Ars Noveau's automation is relatively simplistic....

Ars nouveau, Ars magica, mana and artifice. Which is better
...I've only played ars nouveau but id highly recommend it if you want something a bit more straightforward compared to the other two, but mana and artifice and ars magica probably have more in terms of capability. Also, ars magica is only available on 1.12 or prior if I recall so it's hard to compare it to the other two. Reply reply ......

...I've picked Iron's spells up as well, though never really dabbled with ars. Build up my spells now that I've set up my pygmy farm with the dead king. Currently using the black hole spell and the blood blade to wipe out packs of mobs. But haven't really found any spells strong enough to use against bosses....
