...The cost is referring to choosing to assault the crash site again instead of collecting cash bounty. It's intended that you don't run those missions again, unless you turn on Extended Mode when you start a new campaign....

...The bit I am confused with now in 5.11.0 build is: Are the OPs supposed to disappear every time I finish a mission? (not just the UFO crash sites). I had a mission to eliminate/capture the Clenaers leader which offered 0-200 OPs as a bonus. I got nothing plus it erased already gathered OPs....

Operation points go in to -150 after completing a crash site
...You're never forced to delegate, but it does cost OPs to conduct crash site missions for a UFO type after you have completed two crash sites for that same type of UFO. Your OP balance is allowed to go negative due to this. If you dislike this mechanic, you can turn it off by enabling "Extended" mode, but it will require starting a new campaign....

...If you're one of those people who enjoys repeated crash site missions for the same UFO, often with the same enemies, and no new tech to research, then you can start a new campaign with delegation turned off - I believe the option is called Extended Campaign....

...So the game tells me sending combat team to clear crash site will cost me 100 OP. Thing is, I don't have 100 OP right now but still can send the team just fine. Just checked, it allows me to equip team and send dropship, without subtracting any points. Is this a bug or I'm not getting something?...

...It seems that Operation Points won't be deducted if you evacuate instead of completing the mission. If you carry away all the weapons and stunned enemies, you can probably earn some money, but that requires a lot of micromanagement....
