...The BBC used to use the Met Office to provide their forecasts, but each year they bumped up the price so the BBC went to another provider, I believe they use metogroup (a European Service) instead, but it'll likely go back when the Met Office stops taking the piss. Source: worked with, and at, the Met Office a lot a few years back....

...The met office used to be really good but now they sort-off fell off a bit. They aren't really accurate anymore, for example: they said on there Tuesday Morning report that it was going to be sunny today, but in reality it has been gloomy.. And plus recently, they have been constantly changing the forecast every few minutes....
