Skyscanner - safe to buy tickets??? - Rick Steves Travel Forum
...You don't purchase tickets from skyscanner. You find prices on skyscanner, which then sends you to an external site to buy the tickets directly from the airline....

Skyscanner Website - Rick Steves Travel Forum
...I have recently used Skyscanner to find the fares, then booked direct with Air Dolomiti, Lufthansa and British Airways - for short hops for our December trip. For one of these tickets, Onetravel would have charged a fee for me to pay with a credit card, which Lufthansa didn't (on the same fare)....

Multi-city vs two one way tickets - Rick Steves Travel Forum
...What is the general advantage of booking multi-city instead of two one way tickets. I was on Skyscanner, used multi-city, and chose booking with the airline. It then recommended I book the two flights separately anyway. Is this an airline thing? Airline is TAP. EDIT: Thanks for the input,......

Is FareBoom a good place to book your flights through?
...Skyscanner is very good for European airlines. It links to the airlines themselves where purchases are made. I have never heard of the booking agency you ask about. In my experience, fares are never cheaper than those offered by the airlines directly, if you are sure you are using an official airline site. TripAdvisor has plenty of posts about FareBoom. That site is a magnet for complaints ......

Skyscanner - Rick Steves Travel Forum
...Skyscanner is basically just for searching all options so you can see what is available. Then you will book flights directly with an airline of your choice. Don?t book with third party agencies such as Expedia, CheapoAir, etc. no matter how good prices look there. If you have any problems with your flights, booking direct with the airline is a better way to solve them should they arise. If ......

Is "Hop2" legitimate? - Rick Steves Travel Forum
...Hello - Skyscanner directed me to a website named "Hop2" for my U.S./Europe flight. The price quoted is unbelievably cheap, the schedule is perfect and it's on a major carrier. I've never heard of Hop2. Is it legit or a scam? thanks for any info!...

Skyscanner Success! - Rick Steves Travel Forum
...We use Skyscanner the same way we use Google Flights or Kayak: we use it to search for flights, then book from the airlines themselves. It is handy to be able to see a number of airline options on the same screen. The only time we used a third party vendor to book flights, the itinerary worked, but there were some fraught moments when KLM couldn't easily find our booking record. It worked out ......

Google Flights, Kayak, or ? or ? Which is "better" - Rick Steves
...The software that Google flights uses is ITA Matrix. It was a private company but is now owned by Google. The software is used by numerous airlines including Ameican, Delta, United, Virgin Atlantic and your beloved Turkish Airlines. I use it. Kayak is owned by the parent company of Priceline. Skyscanner is Chinese owned. Google Flights makes most of its money by selling the software to ......

Possible silly question about Skyscanner - Rick Steves
...I usually use Skyscanner only for intra-Europe flights, but am trying it out now for a trip next May. Whenever I call up details for a flight that requires a connection I see the notation "connect in airport," which seems odd--where else would a person access a connecting flight? Does this phrase......

eDreams - Rick Steves Travel Forum
...People love to use Skyscanner to check flights. Did you know that it's a Chinese owned online travel agency who will switch you to whoever's going to give them the biggest commission? Instead of using Skyscanner start using Google flights. And then book directly with the airline. If you do get charged but don't get the tickets dispute the charge with your credi card company....
