Instrument Cluster/ECU Odometer Reading Mismatch = Odometer Light??
...AFAIK, you're right, the ECU also stores the engine's mileage and if it's different from the cluster mileage, the odometer fraud light will show up. The dealer can transfer the highest mileage to the other mileage count so the fraud light will turn off (you can do this by yourselft using the cluster test phase 2 feature)....

A/C low pressure hose at 100psi...what do i do?
...I bought my 99 bmw 323i a year ago in southern california and the a/c has never really worked that great. I tried to recharge it today but when i hooked the hose on to the low pressure valve it showed 100 psi. I'm not sure if it's been overcharged at some point and some pressure just has to be released or what it is. Is it possible to release pressure without blowing myself up? I'd take it to ......
