Direct Line vs Admiral - MoneySavingExpert Forum
...So, who would win in a fight to the death? Seriously though, I'm picking up my new car next week and am about to sort out the insurance. So far admiral, elephant and diamond have come up the cheapest. They are around £100 cheaper than Direct Line and several others. What I'm wondering is if the cover from Direct Line is worth £100 more? I will be changing addresses during the years cover so ......

...Direct Line are fantastic - very good price each time I go with them (I alternate between them and other companies such as admiral each year to get 'new customer' discount) when I did have to make a claim on car insurance in 2018 they were excellent....

...The cheapest quote I got was from Direct line. I also checked to see how much the policy would be at my current address as my insurance renewal is due the 8th July and I don?t yet have a completion date for my move but will be after this. Anyway, because I have put several addresses in on Direct line, they are now declining to offer me insurance....

...I accept that they can offer a service, but my impression is that the cheapest one are direct, on-line etc. I have had an experience with an on-line only insurer where things became difficult, but I'm not sure I'd want to pay loads more for the services of a broker....
